Larry Wasslen is from a working class family from Winnipeg. He moved to Ottawa in 1979 and was a Registered Nurse until his recent retirement. Larry is active in the peace and Latin American solidarity movements.
Larry is fighting to reverse privatization and delisting, enforce the Canada Health Act and expand universal health care to include dental care, pharmacare, eye care and longterm care. The Ottawa South campaign is also highlighting the struggle for jobs and housing. Larry is demanding expanded manufacturing, a shorter work week with no loss in pay, public ownership of key resources and industries, a massive drive to build social housing and rent rollbacks and rent control legislation to cover all rental units.
