Saleh Waziruddin is an unemployed former call centre worker active in the peace and Cuba solidarity movements. He is running to represent the majority of people who have been conscripted into poverty and unemployment.
Saleh will defend the new minimum wage and labour standards from being rolled back, including bringing back holiday pay for part time workers. He extend 10 sick days without needing a doctor’s note to include autoworkers, many of whom are now precarious, and will get rid of “deeming” where injured workers’ benefits are deducted by the minimum wage.
Saleh has two years of management experience in municipal government has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and public policy and management.
