Surjit Sahota, a long time active member of the Indo Canadian Workers’ Association, is currently serving the organization as Secretary. Surjit Sahota’s social and political activism in the Indo Canadian community has spanned over two decades. He is involved in many local struggles to defend labour rights, public health, social services and women’s rights. He is playing a leading role in May Day celebration programs and many other social and political events in Brampton.
Surjit Sahota demands public auto insurance to control rising auto insurance rates, quality well funded health care in Brampton and another public hospital to serve the rising health needs of the people, a full fledged university in the city, better and affordable transit services and he strongly opposes toll highways. Surjit Sahota, along with his wife and two daughters, has lived in Brampton from more than two decades.
